Badbong Wodjmeng Sandstone River Walk

Jabiru, Northern Territory

About this attraction

The Badbong Wodjmeng sandstone river walk, a 6.5-kilometre marked circular walk, takes you through the rainforest, stone country, flood plains and escarpments of Kakadu National Park. Follow the trail past Catfish Creek, flood plains, billabongs, sandstone outliers and the East Alligator River. It is graded moderate and generally takes up to four hours to complete.

Along this walk you're likely to spot lavender-flanked wrens and peregrine falcons. This Country has its own distinct plant species mixed with more widespread species, which is continually changing with the seasons. The trackhead is located not far along the road to Ubirr in the national park. The walk may be closed depending on weather conditions, so please check with the Bowali Visitor Centre at Jabiru before venturing out.

A park pass is required to enter Kakadu National Park. Save time on your holiday and purchase your Kakadu park pass online before you leave home.
