Christmas Island Bird'n'Nature Week
About this event
Explore an unspoilt paradise in the Indian Ocean, home to 23 resident or breeding species of land and sea birds. See two of the rarest sea birds – the Christmas Island Frigatebird and the Abbott’s Booby sharing the skies with White tailed and Red Tailed Tropicbirds. Also keep your eyes peeled for the endemic Fruit Pigeon, White-eye and Christmas Island Hawk owl.
Alongside nightly seminars and special biology guided tours, guests join scientists on daily field trips assisting with colour-banding birds, spotlighting the Christmas Island Hawk Owl and learning the nesting biology of Red tailed Tropicbirds and more!
The annual Bird'n'Nature Week offers bird and nature lovers the opportunity to get close to nature and experience all Christmas Island has to offer.
