National Cherry Festival

Young Visitor Information Centre, Young, New South WalesFri, 4 Dec 2026

About this event

The National Cherry Festival in Young celebrates the town's proud heritage as the Cherry Capital of Australia, set within the picturesque Hilltops Region.

Held every first weekend of December, Friday to Saturday, visitors can savour cherry pies, explore bustling market stalls, enjoy live entertainment and experience the thrill of amusement rides. Local orchards come to life with the season in full swing, offering opportunities to taste fresh cherries straight from the source. A range of fringe events across Young adds to the festive atmosphere, creating a memorable experience for all ages.

The National Cherry Festival continues to honour more than 150 years of cherry-growing history, showcasing the unique character of Young and the Hilltops Region. It is an open invitation to celebrate tradition, community and the freshest cherries in Australia during this special anniversary year.

Visit the National Cherry Festival website for further information.
