About this event
On the 14th August 1924, the last horse-drawn Cobb & Co mail coach kicked up dust on the dirt track from Surat to Yuleba. These two communities come together every 5 years to host a spectacular week long event the Cobb & Co Festival to celebrate this history.
The Cobb & Co Festival is run in the Maranoa region, 500km west of Brisbane. The all-ages family friendly festival will culminates on the last weekend of the festival week in August 2029 with a re-creation of the last Cobb & Co mail run in Australia on the 76-kilometre Cobb & Co Way, an historic route that runs between the picturesque towns of Surat and Yuleba.
The festival includes a Long Table Dinner under the stars while other events include bullock wagons, a horse art exhibition, markets, coach rides, bush poetry, draught horses, a camel-drawn Cobb & Co coach, clay target shooting, the Cobb & Co Festival Ball, period dress-up, live entertainment and an open-air concert taking place over the week.
The Cobb & Co festival is a mix of free experiences and ticketed activities.
