Australian Nativity Scene 2026

St Elizabeth's Parish, Dandenong North, VictoriaMon, 7 Dec 2026, 10:30 am – 8:00 pm

About this event

Experience the story of Christmas.

Experience the Australian Nativity Scene, one of Australia's largest and most renowned traditional nativity displays, now celebrating its 23rd year.

Over more than two decades, the Australian Nativity Scene has become a cherished Christmas tradition, growing and evolving each year and attracting families, parishioners and visitors from near and far. This event is open to people of all ages and offers a memorable Christmas experience for the whole family.

Wilson Fernandez, the designer, creator and artist behind the Australian Nativity Scene, has spent more than two decades developing this remarkable display. The intricately designed village features handmade huts, stables, buildings, bridges, palaces, houses and temples, set amongst mountains, rocks, lakes and rivers. More than simply a display, the Australian Nativity Scene tells the story of the Nativity through a series of changing scenes during the Christmas season.

The journey begins with Mary and Joseph searching for shelter and continues through the birth of Jesus, the visit of the shepherds, the arrival of the Three Kings, and finally the Holy Family's flight into Egypt.

Each stage brings the Christmas story to life and invites visitors to reflect upon the faith, hope, peace and joy at the heart of Christmas.
