Australian Salmon Fishing Championship Elliston
About this event
The Australian Salmon Fishing Championship is an iconic annual fishing competition held on the stunning West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. Running throughout the winter fishing season, the Championship attracts anglers from across the region and beyond, all eager to test their skills and compete for fantastic prizes.
Participants may fish from the shoreline between Mount Camel Beach and Sheringa Beach, using hook-and-line methods only. To be eligible for competition prizes, entrants must purchase an official competition ticket before fishing.
Tickets can be purchased from participating businesses throughout the competition period.
All salmon entered into the competition must be gutted and washed (not gilled or scaled) and presented on the day of capture for official weighing at the Elliston Caravan Park, located opposite the Elliston Jetty.
Whether you're a seasoned angler or simply looking for an excuse to enjoy the beautiful Eyre Peninsula coastline, the Australian Salmon Fishing Championship offers three months of fishing, community spirit, and great prizes.
