Little Quokka's Big Birthday Weekend
About this event
Celebrate the wonder of nature on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island with a weekend program of fun workshops, activities and entertainment.
The Noongar season of Djilba marks the beginning of spring and is a time of renewal on the island. As the weather warms, native plants flourish, wildlife becomes more active and quokka joeys begin to emerge from their mothers' pouches.
Join them for a free, fun-filled weekend celebrating the birthday of the island's most famous resident, with live entertainment, wildlife encounters, hands-on activities, sustainable crafts and outdoor adventures for all ages.
Children aged 5 - 12 years can also receive an exclusive Rottnest Island Nature Passport at the event, which can be collected from the Event Information point.
This event is free to attend, but event registrations are required.
Please ensure you register all members of your family, including adults and children. Children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times during the event.
While every intent is for events to go ahead as planned, in some circumstances they may have to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
