Canberra and Region Heritage Festival
About this event
The 2026 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival was held from 11 April to 10 May, celebrating the places, stories and people that shaped the city. The festival theme, 'Mid-century- innovation, change and optimism', celebrated Canberra's unique heritage - a time of bold ideas, creativity and cultural transformation.
Visitors also explored the rich regional connections to Canberra's heritage with events in Goulburn, Yass, Gunning and Queanbeyan.
Each year, the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival celebrates the rich and enduring natural, First Nations and historic heritage of the region. They look forward to working with event holders for the 2027 Heritage Festival next autumn.
