Looking for a fun Halloween event for kids in Melbourne? Step inside the Old Melbourne Gaol this Halloween and see if your family can escape the haunted prison.
Encounter ghostly characters, mysterious clues and hands-on activities designed to entertain children of all ages. Can you escape the haunted gaol?
To gain your freedom, you'll need to find the ghost judge's wig, search the gaol and uncover a missing piece of spooky courtroom history. Design a Ned Kelly helmet or make a frightfully fun monster puppet to take home. Create your own spooky mugshot board and capture the perfect Halloween selfie. Follow clues through the historic prison and discover hidden surprises along the way.
Once all four challenges are complete, present your stamped passport to the Ghost Sergeant in the Charge Room for approval and release from the haunted gaol.
In addition to the escape activities, visitors can enjoy trick-or-treat lollies, Halloween-themed courtyard games, spooky photo opportunities, historic gaol displays and exhibitions, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
Combining history, mystery and Halloween fun, this special event offers a unique way for children and families to experience one of Melbourne's most famous heritage attractions.
