2026 West Coast Heritage & Minerals Fair
About this event
The West Coast Heritage & Minerals Fair is one of the premier events on the West Coast social calendar!
Colloquially known as the 'Gem Fair' the first Fair was held in 2004 and featured 24 traders. That year approximately 400 people attended. Since then, the Gem Fair has continued to grow and now attracts up to 80 traders from all over Australia and up to 3,000 attendees.
The West Coast Heritage & Minerals Fair was started to provide an opportunity for local collectors and prospectors to display and trade their gems and minerals alongside likeminded people from all over Australia and the world. It was also a way of providing entertainment for the children of the West Coast and instilling in them an interest in the vast amount of gems and minerals that our wonderful region produces.
Previously operated by a dedicated local voluntary committee, chaired by Ms Kim Dunstan, the Gem Fair has been under the management of West Coast Heritage Ltd since 2019.
From 2021, the Gem Fair has been held in its new home at the West Coast Heritage Centre and incorporated the Heritage Centre open day, blacksmith demonstrations, children’s entertainment, live music, a variety of food vendors, with our gem & mineral traders hosted in the historic Gaiety Theatre.
