"Meet the Maker" Happy Echidna Art
About this event
This month Cafe 1871 is showcasing local artist Rebecca O'Leary of Happy Echidna Art.
Rebecca's inspiration and ethos:
"Working with nature has been a lifelong dedication. My practice is inspired by a desire to connect people with the living world, through the details of an animal's fur, the shape of a tree, or moments of connection between species. I have long worked in acrylics for their practicality in remote settings, but have recently returned to printmaking. I'm drawn to its organic, layered process and the physical act of carving and printing.
Through my work, I aim to share the beauty of nature and encourage others to care for and protect it. I established Happy Echidna Art to develop my practice, showcase printmaking, and share this creative process with others."
Carving and painting inside the Cafe looking to interact with the community and talk about her work Sunday Septmber 6th from 7am.
Walk-ins welcome. Grab a coffee and chat with a very charismatic local creative.
