Astronomical Music - Beaker Street Festival 2026
About this event
Music and astronomy meet in this luminous recital tracing humanity's long fascination with the night sky.
Through song and storytelling, journey from early celestial theories and Renaissance stargazers to the great astronomers and star-struck Romantics who found inspiration in the cosmos.
The program spans Vincenzo Galilei's Harmony of the Spheres through Tycho Brahe, Kepler, and Herschel, with songs of planetary motion woven through vivid historical storytelling.
A specially curated recital for Beaker Street Festival with American soprano Katharine Dain, English tenor Tyrone Landau, and associated artist Karen Smithies (piano).
