Santos Tour Down Under efex Race Day 3: Lobethal to Campbelltown
About this event
Get ready for a general classification shakeup across this 166-kilometre stage as the men race through the Adelaide Hills and tackle the notoriously tough Corkscrew Road climb twice before a fast finish into Campbelltown.
We're heading into the Adelaide Hills on this third day of men's racing – a huge test for riders hoping to earn overall victory. The big talking point will be two ascents of Corkscrew Road: storied Santos Tour Down Under territory and scene of legendary moves from the likes of Cadel Evans and Geraint Thomas in years past.
A hacksaw-edge stage profile – including the return of Mount Lofty – is set to illuminate serious contenders, while fans can take their pick of vantage points as the stage plays out across one of South Australia's top wine regions.
Communities including Ashton, Crafers, Uraidla, Balhannah and Woodside will welcome the action, with a dramatic finale in store as the peloton charges towards a Campbelltown finish just five kilometres after conquering the Corkscrew a second time. Who has the grit to get it done?
