La Mama Hope Punk Climate Festival - Cold War 2.0
About this event
An experimental punk show from the twilight of a global crisis.
Cold War 2.0 is a phantasmagoric live performance from the twilight of a global crisis by theatrical saboteurs (The Age) Doppelgangster (Australia/UK).
A high-energy mixture of anarcho-punk, cheap illusions, and frenetic dialogue between two inhuman performers that intercuts the intimate, criminal, and troubling details of their lives.
A kaleidoscopic examination of social atomisation, alienation, and misinformation in which two losers in a motel room eat snow cones, watch you via drone, and burn out a karaoke machine.
From the company responsible for 'The Anarchy (1138-53)' and 'A Sound like Thunder'; generating record walkouts, physical fights, cancellations, and cult followings.
Part of La Mama Hope Punk Climate Festival.
La Mama, Australia's most iconic intimate theatre, was founded in 1967 by Betty Burstall returning from the coffee-house theatre scene in New York City. Nowadays the coffee and biscuits are still free, you can still chat with the artists after the show, and the famous La Mama raffle still thrills.
You simply cannot leave Melbourne without having seen a show at its beloved La Mama Theatre.
