La Mama Hope Punk Climate Festival - Pulse
About this event
A love song to a bleeding ocean.
Pulse is a quartet between vocalist, percussionist, playable costume and sound-art. Inspired by love of and concern for the sea, Susan and Elissa loosen and shatter the bonds of writings and music including Elgar's 'Sea Pictures' song cycle, reinventing them from a contemporary Australian standpoint. Stress on the oceans from 52.1 million tonnes of plastic threatens its very existence and all life on earth. Pulse brings new texts and textures featuring the voices and words of marine scientists currently involved in the struggle to protect oceans, pulling the past towards a future focus.
Part of La Mama Hope Punk Climate Festival.
