From the fresh optimism of spring to the warmth of summer, the rich colours of adventurous autumn, and the quiet reflection of winter, A Turning Year – Four Seasons with Schocker celebrates the ever-turning cycle of nature and life itself.
Featuring Schocker's evocative and deeply expressive works — including Spring Songs, Sonata No. 4 ("Summer Sonata"), selections from Flute Forest, Enter December, Winter Jasmine, and Regrets and Resolutions — this program reveals the extraordinary range of one of today's most beloved composers for the flute. His music moves effortlessly between playful brilliance, heartfelt lyricism, jazz-inspired rhythms, and moments of profound stillness.
Having studied with Gary Schocker for the past six years, Pu-Yu brings a deeply personal connection to this music, sharing works that have inspired and shaped her own musical journey.
