Melbourne is set to kick off NFL Game Week with an unforgettable attempt to make history at Fed Square. Join the legendary San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders as they lead Victorians in an attempt to break the world record for the largest cheerleading dance. The current record to beat is 1,371 participants.
Whether you're a seasoned cheerleader, dancer, sports fan or simply looking for a fun Father's Day activity, this free community event is open to all ages and abilities. The event will feature Auslan interpretation and there will be a dedicated accessible participation area as well as a separate accessible viewing area for spectators.
No experience? No problem. Once you register, you'll be sent a confirmation email with the full routine breakdown. You'll be guided every step of the way by the 49ers Gold Rush cheerleaders who will lead the cheer, alongside professional dance instructors. They will provide every participant with a pair of pom poms to use during the routine, which you can keep as a souvenir of the day. Please wear comfortable, supportive footwear that's safe to dance in.
Participation is free, but registration is essential. Arrival and registration will begin from 11:30 am.
