Live at Lanyon with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra
About this event
Live at Lanyon brings Canberra Symphony Orchestra to the lawns of Lanyon Homestead for an afternoon of music inspired by Spain, South America and Latin America.
The program moves from classical favourites and traditional tango to popular songs known across generations. Audiences can expect music by Astor Piazzolla and Arturo Márquez alongside Shakira, Ricky Martin, La Bamba, Despacito and more.
A chamber ensemble featuring strings, bass and guitar will perform across two sets. Award winning classical guitarist Minh Le Hoang joins the ensemble as featured soloist. Live performances from TengoTango bring the movement and energy of tango onto the lawns.
Visitors can bring a picnic and settle in for the concert, with food and drinks also available to preorder when booking. Families are welcome, with lawn games available for children.
Live at Lanyon takes place in one of Canberra's most distinctive historic settings. Lanyon Homestead is surrounded by gardens, pastoral land and views towards the Brindabella Ranges, creating a relaxed outdoor concert experience far removed from a traditional performance venue.
