Sensorial artist Dr Alison Bennett explores the creative potential of experiencing the world from a neurodivergent perspective in this engaging and fascinating artist talk.
Through examples of artworks created by neurodivergent artists, Alison will explore how different sensory experiences can shape creative practice and offer unique insights into the world around us.
One aspect of neurodiversity is the variation in individual sensory profiles. What might be an inconsequential sound to one person can be overwhelming to another. For some people, the world can literally feel a little louder and more colourful.
Alison will illustrate these ideas through the work of artists whose creative practices offer insight into experiences of the autistic sensorium, including their own work and artworks featured in the sensorial exhibition.
