The Darwin Divercity Series began in 2020 as a passion project by award-winning Darwin photographer Georgia Politis, created to celebrate the diverse community of the Top End through portraiture and storytelling. Since the project began, Georgia has photographed and documented 100 members of the community, capturing their portraits and sharing the personal stories behind each face. Every story explores individual backgrounds, experiences, challenges, achievements and connections to the Territory. The project has been created entirely by Georgia as a labour of love, with every participant photographed and documented at no cost.
The 2026 Darwin Divercity Series Exhibition brings together Series One and Series Two, celebrating more than six years of portraiture, storytelling and connection. Together, the series form a unique visual record of the people who make the Top End such a diverse and vibrant place.
