Mount Roland Folk Festival 2026
About this event
Mount Roland Folk Festival is an intimate three-day celebration of acoustic and folk music, dance, poetry, learning and community spirit in Sheffield, Tasmania.
Set beneath the dramatic presence of Mount Roland, the festival brings together local and interstate performers across Sheffield's town venues and surrounding spaces.
Visitors can enjoy seated concerts, lively dancing, hands-on workshops, music sessions, poetry, shared food and a welcoming festival bar. With limited capacity and a strong emphasis on participation, audiences have the chance to meet artists, learn new skills and become part of the event rather than simply watch.
Family-friendly activities, compact venues and Sheffield's murals, shops and mountain views make it easy to explore the town between performances. The festival is run by a not-for-profit volunteer committee and celebrates music, curiosity and connection in one of Tasmania's most distinctive small towns.
