Join Lucy Best and Nicky Barry as they present an evening of artistic expression that goes beyond existing genre labels. If someone put comedy, cabaret, sketch, burlesque, music, theatre, clowning, and storytelling into a Nutribullet (other benchtop blenders are available) and jeujed/zhuzhed it up, then poured it into a giant cocktail glass and put one of those little paper umbrellas into it they could say A La Fringe and you'd have a vague idea of what this show is.
Lucy Best and Nicky Barry have been making mischief together in Melbourne and across the Australian festival circuit for many years. Individually and as a duo they are multitalented across many performance arts. On the road Best and Barry often come up with incredible creative ideas for future fringe shows. A La Fringe is a chance for Best and Barry to showcase a snippet of several of their brilliant ideas, as they take the audience on a wild and genre bending journey through a show that may well leave people wondering what on earth they just witnessed.
Fringe Festivals provide a platform for experimental art, creative freedom, and work that doesn't necessarily fit into the mainstream. A La Fringe says tick, tick and tick to that.
