Melbourne Diwali is Melbourne's Festival of Lights, and it is completely free to attend. Marvel Stadium Square will transform into one of the city's biggest and most spectacular free nights out, open to the whole family.
Register free to secure your spot and receive all the event-night details. Walk-ins are welcome, but registering helps the team make sure every guest gets the best possible experience.
The 2026 festival features 65+ live performances across the night, with more than 600 young performers from 40 plus Melbourne dance schools taking the stage alongside adult and professional acts. A dance competition runs across primary school, secondary school and adult categories. Food stalls and Diwali markets offer 35 plus traders from across the city, with street food, sweets and gifts running throughout the evening.
Melbourne Diwali takes its name and spirit from Diwali, the festival of lights celebrated across South Asia and around the world. In Melbourne, it has grown into one of the spring season's largest free public celebrations, drawing 10,000+ attendees in 2025 and targeting 20,000 in 2026.
