Come along for a deep dive into your senses and the environment. The Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens have a collection of over 24,000 plants, set within a tranquil woodland environment and resident platypus. Come slow down and explore the symphony of spring colour.
A Forest Therapy walk helps you to notice things you may not normally see, to relax. Be guided through activities such as deep breathing, stretching and sensory immersion to enhance the health benefits of nature. Be inspired by science and poetry and conclude with a seasonal cup of tea.
Forest Therapy / Shinrin Yoku is an evidence-based public health practice that can reduce the effects of stress, help to enhance your immune system, and improve mood.
Shinrin Yoku North West has been bringing this experience of deep relaxation to North West Tasmania for over 5 years.
The Forest is the therapy; they are the guide.
Who: Walks are suitable for adults with moderate fitness who can walk inclines. Please contact them for any accessibility needs. Recommended for ages 14+
Guide Elspeth Brock has worked for many years in therapeutic horticulture and is a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA).
