Adelaide Parklands Guided Walk - Elder Park, Riverbank Precinct and Helen Mayo Park
About this event
Join us for water bird spotting, and explore the most hotly-contested part of your Adelaide Park Lands. See what remains of your Open Green Public space in the Park Lands that are closest to the CBD and River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari.
Over more than 180 years, giant buildings have replaced what used to be Park Lands between North Terrace and the River. In recent years more and more sections have been lost to larger and larger buildings, but there are still Open Green Public spaces remaining, and still hundreds of water birds enjoying the river.
Our Guided Walk will cover both aspects: pointing out what has been lost, while celebrating what remains. Come on a journey through time: linking the past, the present and the future of these two adjoining small parks.
Children are very welcome.
Also, this is a great walk to bring your dog (on a lead).
Wear sturdy shoes.
