Australian Harp Fest Solo Concert
About this event
Join harpist and composer Katia Mestrovic for a celebration of Australian female composition, featuring works by Nat Bartsch, Tara Minton, Lisa Cheney, Mary Doumany, Natalia Mann, Paul Nicolaou, and Katia Mestrovic.
The program highlights the remarkable breadth and versatility of contemporary Australian harp music, spanning modern classical, jazz, and music influenced by non-Western modes and rhythms. Each performance features a slightly different program, offering audiences a unique concert experience.
Australian Harp Fest is a two-year initiative led by Katia Mestrovic and supported by Creative Australia, bringing together more than 30 Australian artists. The project celebrates Australian composers, performers, and collaborators while showcasing the expressive possibilities of the modern harp. It aims to foster creativity, collaboration, and a strong sense of community within Australia's harp scene.
The project encompasses national and international performances by harp soloists, duos, trios, and quintets; the commissioning, premiere, and arrangement of new Australian works; and the release of the Australian Harp Fest album, accompanied by a national tour in 2027.
