From the organiser

Mt Beauty artist Danielle Dalkin creates intricate 3D collages using images from collected antique books, organic materials and found natural objects.

Capturing minute detail, Danielle carefully cuts illustrations from the pages of old books using a precision scalpel. She playfully combines them with natural objects such as insect wings and dried vines, using stainless steel pins to build layered assemblages.

Danielle's artworks sit somewhere between collage and sculpture. Quirky and often surreal, they invite close looking, revealing hidden meanings and humorous connections between nostalgic imagery and imagined worlds.
