Barbara Forever
About this event
This Berlinale Teddy Award-winning portrait of lesbian film pioneer Barbara Hammer captures her prolific career and radical vision that shaped queer and experimental cinema. Directed by Brydie O'Connor in her debut feature, she weaves together footage from the director's personal archive with clips from her films, all accompanied by commentary from Hammer herself – with some sections recorded shortly before her passing in 2019. From explicit lesbian erotica to disorienting animations, Barbara Forever captures the enduring influence of an artist who continues to inspire new generations. This session is presented by The Documentary Film Society.
