5 More Moments By Alexus Dsilva - PIP Theatre
About this event
5 More Moments is a comedic, coming-of-age puppet show about love and loss. Inspired by the sitcoms of the 80's, 90's and 00's, 5 More Moments explores the relationship of nostalgia and grief. Tune in to an emotional rollercoaster featuring two families and their struggles with a shifting status quo.
Boy is a middle aged man-child who can barely make a cup of tea without burning himself. He lives with his mother who he affectionately calls "Ma". Ma is an independent, stubborn and sentimental lady. She has taken care of Boy for all of his life. Everything changes as Ma falls terribly ill. Boy is now in the precarious position of caring for his mother who denies anything is wrong. How can Boy take care of her when he can't even take care of himself?
Birch is a middle-aged mum who is a ball of optimism and utterly dedicated to her son: "widdle baby" Twig. Yet times have changed. Twig is no longer a baby, he is a "monstrous" adult and he does not appreciate his mum smothering him. Despite being over 20 years old Twig acts like an edgy teenager who is desperately trying to flee the nest. How will mother-bird Birch handle her son saying sayonara?
