A Little Bent: Songs, Stories and Other Peculiarities
About this event
Looking for something a little different on a Thursday night in Cairns? Step into Elixir Music House for an intimate evening of original music, soulful harmonies, eccentric storytelling and a deliciously offbeat cabaret sensibility.
Award-winning duo Lizzy & The Woods bring together the talents of singer-songwriter Lizzy D. Smith — also known as Green Room Award-winning cabaret artist Miss Friby — and Woody Clark, an award-winning entertainer and songwriter known for his work in children's music. Blending folk, country, blues and soul, their performances move effortlessly between heartfelt original songs, rich harmonies, larrikin humour and captivating tales from lives well lived.
Joining them are Faux Mo, a piano cabaret and storytelling duo emerging from the larger local band Faux Molone. Expect quirky original songs, theatrical flourishes and gloriously sideways observations, delivered with a distinctly playful sensibility.
Together, these artists create an evening that sits somewhere between a listening-room concert, a vintage parlour gathering and an intimate cabaret soirée. It's a chance to discover original music, encounter some wonderfully unconventional performers and break up the week with something memorable at the iconic Elixir Music House in Cairns.
Whether you're a local music lover or visiting Cairns, settle in for a Thursday night of musical surprises, unexpected stories and the occasional delightful detour into the absurd.
