From the organiser
A soldier, a violin and a deal with the Devil. Internationally acclaimed violinist Anthony Marwood returns to Australia to lead AYO Momentum for Stravinsky's extraordinary The Soldier's Tale, a gripping fusion of music and theatre that follows a young soldier who trades his violin and his soul for the promise of wealth. Directing and performing from the violin, Marwood is joined by celebrated narrator Walter Van Dyk in this vivid retelling of one of the twentieth century's most inventive works. Paired with Kurt Weill's brilliantly eclectic Violin Concerto, this is a concert of dazzling virtuosity, sharp wit and unforgettable storytelling.
