Leave the main roads behind and take the road less travelled to historic Wollombi, a small village in the heart of the Wollombi Valley. It sits on the convict built Great North Road, which reached the village in the 1830s, and for years it was the busiest settlement in the district, with its own court house, hotels, bank and post office. Today the heritage buildings are still standing, and you can wander the village at your own pace. There is no group to keep up with and no rush to get back on the bus. Your private driver will drop you in the centre of town so you can look around, take photos and soak up the atmosphere of a place most visitors never see. While you are there, stop for a taste of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice, a local favourite you will not find on the usual tour route.(30 min)
