Your driver meets you at 8:00 AM right at your cruise ship in La Spezia or Marina di Carrara port. On the way you pass the Apuan Alps, famous for the Carrara marble used by Michelangelo. In Pisa you are dropped off next to the Square of Miracles (Piazza dei Miracoli): free time to see the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and the Baptistery and take your classic photos. Climbing the Leaning Tower is optional (tickets about €20, own expense, best booked in advance).(1 hr)

A scenic drive to Florence and a first stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, the best panoramic view over the city, with the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and the Arno river at your feet, and a bronze copy of Michelangelo's David.(20 min)

Your driver drops you off in the heart of Florence for about 3 hours of free time to explore on your own. Our suggested walk: the Duomo with Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi, the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce. Enjoy lunch at your own pace (own expense): your driver will suggest a good spot for an authentic Tuscan bite. If you wish to see Michelangelo's David, book your Accademia Gallery tickets in advance (own expense). Return to your port around 6:00 PM, always planned around your ship's all-aboard time.(3 hr)
