About Broadmeadow Station

Physically mapped on site by Inclusable. This guide follows the accessible journey through the station — from the street, through the underpass and lifts, to the platforms — rather than simply labelling the station accessible.

Platforms: Platform 1 is for trains towards Sydney. Platforms 2 and 3 are for trains towards Newcastle. Signs at the underpass separate the two directions, and also point the way to Newcastle Showground and the Entertainment Centre.

Step-free route: lifts connect the street, the underpass and the platforms — one is signed "To underpass and street", another "To platforms and underpass". A graded ramp with a handrail and tactile ground indicators leads down to the underpass, and wheelchair and lift symbols mark the accessible route throughout. There is level space to wait outside the lifts.

The lifts are the only step-free way between the underpass and the platforms. If you can't use stairs, check that the lifts are working before you travel.

Accessible toilet: a signed accessible toilet on the station, reached by a step-free approach with a handrail and tactile indicators nearby. An Emergency Help point is close by.

Boarding the train: step-free access to the platform doesn't always mean level boarding onto the train. If you use a wheelchair or need help getting on, you may need a portable boarding ramp and staff assistance, depending on the train.

Accessible parking: accessible parking signage is beside the station, with a step-free path to the entrance.

Lifts and other equipment can be out of service at times. If lift access or boarding assistance is essential to your trip, check current transport information before you travel.

Accessibility scores are an AI-assisted baseline drawn from public sources and community insight. Where a venue is operator- or council-verified, a person has confirmed its details — shown by the badge near the top. If a detail is critical to your visit, we recommend confirming with the venue before you go. How scores work
